James Max Heard

James Max Heard of Texas City, Texas passed away Friday, July 12, 2024 at HCA Mainland Hospital in Texas City, TX.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., at First Church of the Nazarene, 2105 Fifth Ave N., Texas City, TX. A private burial will follow at a later date.

Max was born in Bristrow, Oklahoma. He grew up as a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Texas City and graduated from LaMarque High School. Max was a Navy sailor serving aboard the USS RANKIN, receiving the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was a machinist at Union Carbide in Texas City for over thirty years, earning a Silver Veteran's Badge, an hour conferred by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers.

Max was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. Heard and Edith Rollins Heard, as well as his beloved only child, Donald Heard.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy Heard, Marcia and Keith Lewetzki, Nathan and Shelly Lewetzki, Elizabeth (Betsy) and John Flanagan, Jeffrey and Jenifer Lewetzki and Rhianna and AJ O'Connor.
