James W. Hale, born in Ava Missouri, June 17, 1926, remained in Missouri through his early school years and graduated high school in Ava. The family moved to Orange, Texas in the early 1940's. Jim entered the Navy, under the V12 Program and became an aviator in the U. S. Navy. When WWII ended in 1945, Jim chose to leave the Navy, as an option to attend college under a government program which was available.
Jim graduated from Southern Louisiana Institute located in Lafayette, Louisiana in 1949, with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Degree. He became professionally licensed in Louisiana and Texas as a Registered Professional Engineer.
Throughout his carrier and serving in several responsible engineering and management positions with Cities Service Oil Company, Lummus Engineering, Brown & Root Engineers and Construction and Litwin Engineers; Jim formed his own company of HASCO Consultants. The company prospered in business for 30 plus years and he remained active in business well in into his late 80's.
Early hobbies, in addition to flying airplanes, were hunting and fishing, camping and eventually becoming a weekend rancher in South Texas.
With his natural love for travel and of the outdoors, he and his wife Frieda adventured out in the RV, with many round trips made to Alaska, their ultimate trip.
Jim's rule of life, "Every Man Needs Another Mountain To Climb", and he certainly enjoyed the fulfillment of many.
