JAMES B. CURL
James Curl, 90, of Texas City was called home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2014. James was born in Orange, TX. on February 1, 1924 to the late Archie and Pearl Curl.
James is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Elevern Curl daughter and soninlaw, Margaret and Damon Adkins of Texas City, TX. son, Mark G. Curl of San Saba, TX. brother, Daniel Curl of San Leon, TX. 6 grandchildren, 7 greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
James was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and following his service, worked as a painter and OwnerOperator of Spillway Bait and Tackle for many years. He was also a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Texas City. As an avid outdoorsman, James loved to fish, hunt and garden.
Both the visitation and funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at Trinity Baptist Church, 2220 29th St. N., Texas City, TX. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm with the funeral service following at 2:00 pm. Officiating the service will be son, Mark G. Curl. Burial will take place directly after the service at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, TX.
Pallbearers are Paul Adkins, Steven Adkins, Michael Curl, Mark Curl II, Trevor Adkins, and Damon Adkins. Honorary Pallbearers are Blake Adkins and Ty Adkins.
The family would like to thank the staff of Bayou Pines Care Center, James care staff at Mainland Medical Center with a special thank you to Valerie McCray also of Mainland Medical Center.
