Irene Marie Durdin 93, from Texas City went to her heavenly home on January 25, 2018.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home with Joe Giles officiating. Burial will follow at Hayes Grace Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2018 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas.
Irene was born October 27, 1924 in Joplin, Missouri. She was a member of the First Baptist church of Texas City for over 50 years where she taught Sunday School until the age of 90. She was a member of WMU and worked in the kitchen for many years preparing food for the shut-ins of Texas City. She also volunteered her time at various other church activities including Vacation Bible School. She was an inspiration to her children, grandchildren and multiple friends and acquaintances. Irene enjoyed crocheting gifts for her many family and friends and never forgot a Birthday. She was an avid reader and enjoyed her daily bible study. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tyrene and Jane Prall; husbands, Pete Brasher (1963) and Neal Durdin (1999) brother, Bobby Gene Prall; nephew, Gary Gene Prall and son-in-law Ricky Hilton.
She is survived by her children, Raymond Bruce Brasher and wife Shirley of Houston, Texas, Howard Brasher of Dubuque, Iowa, Jan Cheatheam and husband Jimmy of Wichita Falls, Texas, Judy Hilton of Angleton, Texas and David Brasher and wife Debbie of League City, Texas; 12 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, 6 nieces, 1 nephew and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Kelso, Jamie Carr, Blake Miller, Tiger Prall, John Broyles and Keoni Milutin, Honorary Pallbearers Ray Hilton and Ryan Hilton.
