HOWARD PURKAPLE, JR.

Howard Purkaple, Jr., 88, of Texas City, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Mainland Center Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 9, 2014, at EmkenLinton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:005:00 p.m., Sunday, June 8, 2014 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Mr. Purkaple was born December 21, 1925 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He served in Navy. He retired from Union Carbide where he was an Instrument Tech. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge A.F. A.M. 1118 and a member of the Scottish Rite.

Howard is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Alice Flood Purkaple his father, Howard Purkabple, Sr. and wife Margaret his mother Reba Boles and husband Clyde daughters, Karen Gonzales and Janet Purkaple greatgrandson, Andrew Paul Ybera

Survivors include his son, Randal Purkaple and wife Lisa daughter, Michelle El Beckroui brother, Jerry Purkaple and wife Lela sister, Amar Vines and husband Ed soninlaw Freddie Gonzales grandchildren, Scott Purkaple, Aaron Purkaple, Amanda Purkaple, Samira Ali Leila El Beckrouip, Michael Purkaple, Melissa K. Tucker and Lynn Pye and numerous greatgrandchildren.

Family would like to express a special gratitude to his niece Janan Alford.
