Helen Trepagnier Chuoke

Loving wife, mother and grandmother Helen Chuoke passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence on June 28, 2013. She was born on November 14, 1924 and raised in New Orleans, LA. Her family moved to Galveston in 1947. After graduating from Business School, she was employed by Seinsheimers Insurance Company. She married Mitchell Chuoke in 1951 and they moved to Texas City. She kept the books and made the payroll for many years for her husbands start up plumbing company. She was the ultimate homemaker and caregiver. She was a member of St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church, which was very close to her heart where she was active in St. Monicas Group of the Altar Society. She enjoyed needlepoint, crossstitch and working on her computer but her pride and joy was giving to her family, which she did unceasingly.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph N. and Antoinette Trepagnier, motherin law Josephine Chuoke, brother Harold A. Trepagnier, sister Rita Strickland, brotherinlaws Richard Skarke and Ted Pulich, niece Patti Kay Pulich and nephew George Strickland.

Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, Mitchell Chuoke, daughter Cathy Fitch and husband J.B., son Mitchell Chuoke, Jr. and wife Connie, daughter Debora Moninghoff and husband Ed, son Joseph Chuoke and wife Ellen grandchildren, Ashlyn Baker and husband Ted, James Fitch, Erica Chuoke, Mitchell Chuoke III, Helen Moninghoff, Joseph Chuoke, Edward Moninghoff, Annie Chuoke, Mackey Chuoke, Alan Chuoke, Wyatt Chuoke and Lily Chuoke sisterinlaws Patti Pulich, Marie Skarke and Frances Trepagnier niece Francel Leonard, nephews Gary Skarke and wife Sally Anne, David Skarke, Victor Pulich, Larry Trepagnier, Paul Trepagnier and wife Deandra, Anthony Trepagnier and great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Pat Henry for the excellent and loving care she gave mom for the past 3 12 years, as well as, the care given by Patricia Woodkins. We would also like to thank Dr. Anna Rotkiewicz of UTMB for her exceptional attention and compassion.

Visitation will be Monday, July 1, 2013 between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. at Emken Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 2nd at St. Mary of the Miraculous Catholic Church at 1604 9th Avenue North, Texas City, Texas with Rev. Tom Ponzini officiating. Interment will follow at The Serbian Orthodox Cemetery in Galveston, Texas with V. Rev. Father Serg Veselinovich as cocelebrant. Serving as Pallbearers will be the honor of her grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church or Saints Constantine and Helen Serbian Orthodox Church.
