Hazel Slate

Hazel Slate went to be with our heavenly Father, July 13, 2015. Hazel was born March 17, 1929. She resided in Texas City for 64 years. She was employed by Monsanto Chemical Company for 33 years and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church.

Hazel Slate is preceded in death by 3 grandchildren, Kimberly, Amy and Kevin; Sisters, Opal, Cecilia, Annie, Billie and Earlene; son in law, Clair Nelson.

Survivors include husband, Johnny Slate; sons, Charles Bruce and wife Gloria, David Bruce, Dennis Bruce and wife Beverly, Terrance Slate and Anthony Slate; daughters, Linda Theiss, Deborah Sherman, Pamela Nelson, Mich Kent and husband Gary; 17 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 1 great - great grandchild; sister, Geneta Fielder and husband Carley; brothers, Donnie and Dickie Hill, along with many nieces and nephews.
