Harry Mewis

Harry Mewis, 81, of Texas City, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Clear Lake Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park. Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Harry Mewis was born August 11, 1934 in Bellville, Texas. He was a retired Pipefitter.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Dolores Mewis.

Survivors include, Lance Howeth and wife Denee and their children, Tyler and Haley; Joni Delgado and her children, Sophie and Dane; brother, Earl Mewis; sisters, Evelyn Jolly, Joyce Beard and husband Doyle, Marcie Benoit; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; longtime friends and caregivers, Bennie Green and Frank Austin; one of his best friend for over 50 years, Nelson "Soup" Howard.

Pallbearers are Clay Ramlow, Gerald Jolly, Brock Jolly, Jeff Beard, Richie Beard and Chris Delgado. Honoray Pallbearers, Frank Austin, Nelson "Soup" Howard, Chris Stauffer and Brian Jolly.

The family wants to say a special thanks to Clear Lake Regional Hospital 4th floor IMCU doctors, nurses and staff and to Dr. Janice Teer.
