Mr. Harold Wayne Turner, known to friends and family as “fuzzy”, passed peacefully onto his eternal home with our father in Heaven on the evening of December 28, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas. The Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024, at 11:00am, followed by a procession to Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
Harold Wayne was born in Angleton, Texas on October 22, 1943, to John and Opalean Turner. He lived on a ranch in Bonney, Texas until 1946 when his family moved to Galveston. In 1947, the family moved to LaMarque, Texas, and he attended and graduated from Hitchcock High School in 1962. He joined the Army in 1964, and served in Vietnam as Army Aviation, 5th Special Forces from 1965 to 1966. He was discharged to reserve duty until 1970. He was a Mason in LaMarque
Lodge 1325, and a 32-degree Mason in El Mina Temple in Galveston and Shriner.
He raised three children: Denise Kay, Robert Wayne, and John Wade. He became a pawpaw to Jordan, Justin, Sydney, and Rylan. He was blessed even more to become a great pawpaw to Aubri, Kaylin, and Madison.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Opalean Turner, his brother, Henry Turner, and sisters, Lila John Hurst and Wanda Jean Peek. Also, his nephew, Samuel Turner, and great nephews, Jacob Wentzel and Bo Bolin.
He leaves behind his children: Denise Turner, Robert Turner (Selma), and John Turner (Kelley), his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Robert Turner, Donald Bolin, AG Wentzel, Matt Wentzel, Richard Wagner, and Chris Windham.
Honorary pallbearers are John Turner, Jordan Turner, Justin Turner, Rylan Turner, and Steven Reynoso.
