Gus Griffee

Gus Edward GE Griffee, 88 a resident of Texas City for more than six decades, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013.

Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday, May 30 at the Emken Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock. There will be a visitation for Mr. Griffee on Wednesday, May 29 from 57 PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Griffee was born on September 23, 1924 in Arkansas. He retired from Union Carbide after 38 years of service. He was an avid bowler, loved to deer hunt and especially loved to crappie fish at Sam Rayburn Lake.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Edith his son, Linden Edward Griffee and wife, Katie, of Edgewood, New Mexico his daughter, Barbara Leigh Plasek of La Marque his grandchildren Melissa Worthem, Scott Griffee, Karie Griffee, Drew Plasek and Taylor Plasek his great grandchildren Micaiah, Sora and Sage Griffee his sister Joann Letinich nephews Dale and Danny Brown and their families and several friends.

GE will be remembered as a good husband, wonderful dad and great friend to all that knew him.
