Guadalupe "Lupe" Garcia went to be with her Lord on January 15th, 2018. She leaves us with so many good memories that will forever and joyfully be treasured in our hearts and minds. Mom was a blessing to us all and she knew it! She guarded us, fought for us and protected us in our infancy until now with all the strength, love and devotion that was within her. And that same tenacity lives on within her 7 children and their families as well.
"Lupe" De La Rosa was born in Galveston, Texas; February 7th, 1934. All her life, she lived to serve others. As a housewife, mom and friend to all, you could count on mom to bring laughter, love and humor into the mix of what we called home. In the midst of all her great cooking, we would hear her favorite music blaring from her radio. And what a sight she was ironing clothes and playfully dancing and singing right along to her Tejano, 50's, R&B and country sounds. We are forever grateful that Mom taught us well on how to handle the good times as well as the bad times.
Success is determined not only on how much we love others, but also by how much others love us. Mom you were truly successful! We're proud of you mom as you rejoice in the kingdom of heaven. We will see you again-In Jesus Name.
She has numerous relatives and friends who have gone on before her, including her husband, Maximo Garcia Jr. Her legacy continues on with her children, Johnny Angel (Susan), Yvonne Tsimiliotis (John), Elena West (Warren), Teresa Hrachovina (Aaron), Jesse Angel, Mario Angel and Laura Phillips (Mark). And step-children; Norma Carrera (Israel), Liz Garcia, Rosie Fagan and step-son Maximo Garcia.
Funeral services will be Monday evening at 7: 00 at the First Church of God, Texas City, 2209 29th St. North. Visitation will begin at 6:00. Graveside services will be Tuesday morning at Calvary Cemetery in Galveston, Texas at 11:00 A.M.
