SKC SS Gerald A. Ciabattoni, USN, Ret.

On Thursday, September 1, 2011, God called one of his children, Gerald A. Ciabattoni, home. He went to live with his Heavenly Father in the mansion Jesus had been preparing for him. There he will live in peace, free of pain, and watch over us from above. Another Angel got his wings and the twinkling of the stars is his way of saying, I am here safe and sound, reunited with our other loved ones. Gerald fought a good fight after a lengthy battle with complications from Agent Orange.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, at the Church of the Nazarene in Texas City. The Patriot Guards will escort and stand tall and silent at the burial in the Houston National Cemetery.

Gerald was born April 21, 1941 in Galveston, Texas. He was a retired disabled veteran with 20 years service with the U. S. Navy. He had served two tours in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW Post 8566 Bacliff, Texas, a member of the American Legion Unit 0345 Texas City, Texas, and a Past Grand Knight of Columbus Council 5236.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Rena Ciabattoni sister Norma Brown brother Jesse Ciabattoni nieces Cindy Ciabattoni and Lee Biela nephew Chris Ciabattoni uncle Gildo Bubba Micheletti and special friend Command Master Chief Frank Claus Brown, U.S. Navy, retired.

Survivors include his loving, devoted wife and caretaker, Debbie Ciabattoni sons Patrick Jaeger and wife Linda and Timothy James and wife Carrie daughter Lisa Brinkley and husband Ashley sister Madeline Jennings and husband Bart brothers Vincent Ciabattoni and wife Carolyn and Robert Ciabattoni and wife Linda aunt Norma Butler sisterinlaw Stella Ciabattoni grandchildren: Michael, Nichole, Kaylan Roque, Trey Roque, Nicole Jaeger, Lauren Hegmann, Jessica Jaeger, Alexandria James, Richard James, Deborah Jaeger, and Evangeline Jaeger special friend Anne Garibaldi numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends.

The Ciabattoni Family would like to give a very special thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and staff of Cornerstone Hospital and the Nazarene Church Family for all their care and concern over the last 3 months.
