GEORGE SWEETEN

George Sweeten, 90, of Texas City, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at his residence.

A Crypt side service will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. 10:30 a.m. Thursday at EmkenLinton Funeral Home.

Mr. Sweeten was born August 27, 1924 in Cleveland, Texas. He was a retired Superintendent at Todds Ship Yard in Galveston. He was an avid outdoorsman and he loved spending time with his family hunting and fishing. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII.

He is preceded in death by his parents Mark and Minnie Sweeten his loving wife of over 50 years, Edna Sweeten his son Jerry Sweeten.

Survivors include his daughters, JoAnn Trahan of Texas City, and Deborah Rosser and husband George of Texas City his grandchildren Jason Trahan of Dallas, Jeremy Trahan and wife Kristin of Dallas, Justin Trahan of Dallas, Ronnie Rosser and wife Martha of Albuquerque NM, Lisa Webb and husband George of Texas City and Julie Rosser of Texas City six great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. He was loved and respected by many and will be truly missed.
