George Darras Iv

George H. Darras IV, 47, of Texas City, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019. Memorial services will be held 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 8, 2019 with a visitation from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Quayle; son, Sean Steves; step-children, Kelly Frame and David Donato;  step-father, Geren Gaither; step-sisters, Alex Mihalich and Paige Gaither; step-brother, Gary Gaither; grandmother, Joyce Ciranni; aunt, Brenda Langford; step-grandmother, Debbie Langford; cousins Shannon Butler, son Jacob; Kenneth Stevens (Cecilia wife), children Eric, Marissa, Ashley and Leanne, numerous other family members and a host of friends.

George was born August 6, 1972 in Galveston, Texas to Karen and George Darras III.  He graduated from Clear Creek High School in League City.  He went on to further his education and completed his bachelor degree from University of Houston.  He received Master Degrees of Mathematics and American History.  He was also working on his doctorate in American History.

He started teaching in New Caney and later moved to League City and where he taught at Walter Hall Elementary and later Lobit Middle School in Dickinson.  While at Walter Hall Elementary he was in charge of Lego League. His favorite classes to teach were mathematics and science.  All the kids loved him and the feeling was quite mutual.  He made many great friends on both campuses.  He loved going to the movies with his wife Linda. He loved teaching, flying his drone, skydiving, playing Pokemon Go with friends, telling stories, barbequing and having neighborhood get togethers, and most of all his dogs.

He will be greatly missed by all of his family and the many friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents George Darras II(wife); Pops Roger Langford; his mother Karen Langford Gaither; father George H. Darras III and wife Marilyn and his aunt Rhonda Langford Cuyos.

A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at MD Anderson for the wonderful care given.
