Geneva Pruitt Shiver, a former resident of Texas City, died July 20, 2015, in Marble Falls, Texas. Geneva was born March 6, 1926, in Bluff City, Arkansas. She lived in Texas City for many years before moving to Llano, Texas, in 2005. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Shiver, her parents and her brothers Joe Pruitt, Mack Pruitt and Bill Pruitt. She is survived by her daughter Frances and her husband Jim Young of Llano; by her son Arthur Shiver and his wife Margaret and their daughter Stephanie and her husband Brandon Quigley of Dallas; by her brother J.D. Pruitt and his wife Runez of Collinsville; and by Anne Gremillion and her husband John Gayle of Shreveport, Louisiana. Her extended family includes three grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who visited her often and whom she loved very much. Her great nephew, the Reverend Wilson Pruitt of Smithville, Texas, will conduct a graveside service at Forest Park East in Webster, Texas, Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. The family requests memorial donations of sympathy be made to the Texas State Development Foundation, Mack & Dixie Pruitt Endowed Memorial Scholarship, Texas State University, Attention: Donor Services, JCK-480, 601 University Drive, San Marcos, Texas 78667.
