GENE BRUCE

Gene Bruce, 80, of Texas City, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 1, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.

Services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at EmkenLinton Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Boswell officiating. Burial will follow at Alta Loma Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

He was born January 5, 1933 in Center point, Texas to Morris and Lorraine Bruce. He was a Route Sales Manager for Flowers Bakery. He enjoyed nature and being outdoors. He loved going to Canyon Lake and feeding the deer and spending time with his wife and family.

Mr. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents his wife Alice Bruce son John Bruce brother Billy Bruce sister Vera Faye Hooper.

He is survived by his son Gene Allen Bruce, Jr. of Hitchcock, Texas daughter Julie Horton and husband, Jerry of Santa Fe, Texas son Randy Brewer an wife, Dolly of Canyon Lake, Texas sister Lora Mae Griggs of Lufkin, Texas his grandchildren Jeremy and Stephanie Brewer, John and Allison Bruce, Mandy Rogers, Tara Hersey, Colton Horton, Ronda Nuce and numerous greatgrandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Santa Fe Christian Church 13602 FM 1764 Santa Fe, Texas 77510.
