Forrest Ray Jenkins, 83, of Texas City, passed away peacefully on June 5th, 2013 at St. Lukes Episcopal Hospital after a brief illness.
A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Northside Baptist Church 2802 Logan Street North, Texas City, with Rev. Clay Bowers and Bishop Delbert Herrin officiating.
He was born on September 3, 1929 in Zavala, Texas. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked at Union Carbide as an accountant for 38 years. He and his wife Jean brokered a real estate office in Texas City for many years. Upon retirement he spent his time with his family and enjoying the outdoors and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wiley Henry Jenkins, Sr. and Cora Grimes Jenkins, brothers, Charles and Wiley Jenkins, Jr. and sister Jewel Havard.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Iris Jean Jenkins son Gary Jenkins daughter Cheryl Pogue Windland stepson Jerry Hancock, Jr. daughterinlaw Peggy ONeal Hancock grandchildren, Natalie and Matthew Hancock, Amanda Pogue Mohon great grandchildren Christian and Chloe Hancock and Kate Mohon and many other family and friends.
