Esther Hobi

Esther Davila Hobi, 88, of Texas City, Texas passed away, Tuesday, August 17, 2021.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday August 23, 2021 at Galveston Memorial Park.

Esther Davila Hobi was born October 3, 1932 in Friendswood, Texas. She was raised in Texas City, Texas and eventually moved to California for many years until she returned. Esther was married to the love of her life Fred Hobi for 40 years. She was employed with Montgomery Wards for 35 years and then shortly at the local bank after retiring briefly. Esther was a member of the Iglesia Campamento de Liberacion de Jesuchristo in Alvin. She was the grand organist/pianist for grand chapter of the state of California and played all over the state. She was also an organist/pianist for the Eastern Star Chapter #626 in Texas City.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Antonia Davila; husband, Fred Hobi; her sisters, Clara Montez and Mary Holloway; brothers, Phillip Davila, Santos Davila, Sam Davila and Manuel Davila.

Survivors include sister, Rachel Davila Garza; niece, Tina Emert and husband Darrin; nephews, Mike Montez and Tony Montez and wife Sheila; goddaughter/great niece, Zoe Emert and her great-great nieces, Karly Morris, Audrey Alyna and McKenlee whom she truly loved. Esther had many other nieces, nephews, close relatives, and friends.
