Epifanio Sosa Guardiola, 104, of Texas City, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at his residence. He was born April 20, 1920, in San Carlos Tamaulipas, Mexico to the late Paula (Sosa) Guardiola and Roman Guardiola. Epifanio grew up in El Soliseno, Tamaulipas, Mexico where he met the love his life, the late Maria Soto Guardiola, and they were married on August 31, 1943.
Epifanio was a hard worker, and he loved gardening. He was a railroad laborer for over 30 years with the Texas City Terminal Roadway Company and retired in 1990.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Maria Soto Guardiola, brothers Guadalupe Guardiola, Jose Guardiola, Daniel Guardiola, Maximilliano (Chano) Guardiola, Arcadio Guardiola, sister Consuelo Guardiola Rivas and son-in-law Ross Bradley.
He is survived by his sister Gloria Guardiola Garcia, children David Guardiola and wife Julie, Clara Guardiola Cooley and husband George, Eva Guardiola, Carlos Guardiola, Paula Coronado and husband Ed, Eloisa Posey, Oralia Bradley, Sofia Barajaz and husband Leonard, Sam Guardiola and wife Rita, and Sylvia Guardiola; grandchildren Ryan Alexander Guardiola and wife Ashley, Armando Victoria, Jr. and significant other Lauren Tuttle Laurent, Laura Victoria Jones and husband William, Ian Coronado and wife Eugenia, Cynthia Templin and husband Jade, Dwayne Bradley and wife Samantha, Eric Bradley, Anthony Barajaz and wife Kim, Steven Barajaz, Sam Guardiola, Jr. and wife Karen, Michael Guardiola, and Raquel Guardiola; great grandchildren William Jones, Noah Michael Jones, Noam and Nikolas Coronado, Brenna Templin, Austin Bradley, Tatum Gryzmala, Kaylee, Luke, Jacob and Issac Barajaz, DeAngelo and Andrew Barajaz, Jeremy Guardiola and wife Jordan, Jeff Hoffman, Ashleigh Hoffman, and Brynlee Guardiola, and great great granddaughter Lucia Guardiola and numerous nieces and nephews. Also, a special thank you to care giver Diana Ivonne Rios for taking good care of our dad, Epifanio.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 31, 2025, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home, 5100 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway, Texas City, with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2025, in the chapel of Emken-Linton Funeral Home and interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.
