Elva Herrera Medrano

Elva Herrera Medrano, 63, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, of Texas City, TX, transitioned from this life on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. She was born on August 10, 1959 in Port Lavaca “Little Mexico” TX to birth parents, Jose Martinez and Juanita Nevarez, and was raised from an early age by her mother, Felipa Gomez.

She is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Catarino Sauceda, Jr.; brothers, Joe Galvan, Pete Galvan, Jose Martinez, Jr., Rene Delgado, Manuel Martinez; and sister, Maria Martinez. 

She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Alejandro Medrano Sr.; sons, Victor and Alex Jr.; daughters, Victoria and Joyce; son-in-law, Jesus and daughter-in-law, Debbie; her beloved grandchildren, Royce, Layla, Daisy, Michael, Imari, and Rueben Jr.; brothers, Johnny Galvan and Robert Galvan; sisters, Angelita Galvan and Mary Perez; Martinez and Delgado siblings; Johnny, Carlos, Cornelio, Armando, and Raymond, Irene, Dorothy, and Betty; along with numerous nieces and nephews she loved as her own, including Mike and Barbara Payne-whom she called her “pride and joy”. 

Visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home, 5100 Emmett F. Lowry Expwy, Texas City, Tx 77591.
