EDWARD S. RODRIGUEZ, SR.
Edward S. Rodriguez, Sr. went to be with the Lord Friday, May 23, 2014 at The Pointe Hospice Center in Webster. He was surrounded by his loved ones.
A Mass will be held 10:00a.m., Friday, May 30, 2014, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church at 1200 Cedar at Laurel, LaMarque. Burial will follow Mass at Forest Park East Cemetery at 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster. Visitation will be 5:008:00p.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City. Followed by a Rosary at 7:00p.m. at the funeral home.
Eddie was born in Texas City and enlisted in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. He was a musician third class. He served on the USS Dixie ad14 and was honorably discharged on July 24, 1964. On his return home he served as a Texas City mail carrier for 4 years, later he began working for Carbide for 32 years until his retirement in 2001. Eddie liked racing cars and boxing, he was a fan of the Houston Texans, Rockets and Astros. He also loved wrestling. But most of all he loved his wife, children and grandchildrengreatgrandchildren. He was loved by many friends. Once you met Eddie you would never forget him. Eddie will be missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mariano Rodriguez, Sr. and Margarita Fuentes his brothers, John S. Rodriguez and Robert Cesares.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty years, Beatrice Bea Rodriguez sons, Edward Rodriguez, Jr., Stephen Rodriguez and David Rodriguez daughters, Gisela Rodriguez and Carol Slade and husband Charles sisters, Vera Reyes, Olivia Yanas and husband Raymond, Margaret Rodriguez, Lizzie Ybarra and husband Edward his brothers, Mariano Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Shirley and Robert Fuentes granddaughters, Samantha Pietrowski and husband Ryan, Stephanie Rodriguez and Shannon Rodriguez greatgrandsons Ryan Pietrowski, Jr. and Royce Pietrowski greatgranddaughter, Maia Rodriguez and numerous nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers are Edward Ybarra, Sr., Eddie Rodriguez, Jr., Cary Ball, David Rodriguez, Matt Pena and Joey Barb.
Eddies family would like to thank the staff and patients at Davita South Shore Dialysis Center who became like family to Eddie, his wife Bea and his son David.
