Edna Matilda Kunkel, 96, of League City, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, Missouri. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Schell City, Missouri. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:000 p.m., Friday, January 27, 2016 at the Funeral Home.

She was born in Garfield County, Oklahoma on August 23, 1920 to the parents of Theodore and Matilda Schnackenberg. She grew up in Chelsea, Oklahoma and was from a family of seven children.

She is preceded in death by her son, Allan Kunkel and her husband, Ernest Kunkel.

Survivors include daughter, Sharon Moynihan and husband Joe of San Antonio; son, Sam Kunkel and wife Judy of League City, TX; daughter-in-law, Sherry Kunkel of Nevada, MO; grandchildren, Nora Burgess and husband Shane of San Antonio, Dan Moynihan and wife Emilie of Pasadena, CA, Chase and Kaley Kunkel of League City, TX, Jamie Kunkel and wife Rachel of Schell City, MO and Jacqueline Spratt and husband David of Nevada, MO. She has 14 great grandchildren and 2 great- great grandchildren, one brother Melvin Schnackenberg and wife Marge of Silver Spring, MA. And a sister-in-law Regina Schnackenberg of Tulsa, OK.

The many things she enjoyed in life were family, traveling, sewing, quilting, playing bridge and other card games and her many friends. She traveled all over the world including, Germany, Hawaii, Alaska, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Abu Dhabi, UAE.

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept my faith."
