David Michael Leining Sr., 63, of Texas City, passed away July 14, 2015.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Hitchcock. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet in Dickinson, Texas. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., July 17, 2015 at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City with a Vigil and Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m.
David Sr., was born August 24, 1951 in Texas City. He was a graduate of Santa Fe High School and a US Navy Veteran. He retired from Amoco/BP and was the owner of Santa Fe Archery. David was an Avid hunter who traveled around the world, including South Africa, New Zealand and Canada in search of big game. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and he loved the game of golf.
He is preceded in death by father, Wilfred Leining; mother, Sylvia Denyer Leining; grandson, David Tadlock Jr.
He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Wild Leining; sons, David Michael Leining Jr., Brian Michael Leining; daughters, Vida Michelle Leining and Lauren Michelle Leining; brothers, Thomas Leining and Gerald Leining; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are David M. Leining, Jr., Brian M. Leining, Thomas W. Leining, Gerald W. Leining, Gary McFarland, Israel Garza and Jimbo Anderson.
David was a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who enjoyed spending time with his family and working out on his ranch. After Surviving the BP explosion of March 23, 2005 he enjoyed living his life the way he wished, and to the fullest.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church or school.
