Charity Marie Sharp, 91, of Friendswood, passed away Monday, December 12, 2011 at Clear Lake Regional in Webster.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 19, 2011 at Alvin Lutheran Church in Alvin, Texas. Visitation will be from 4:007:00 P.M., Sunday, December 18, 2011 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Grace Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
Ms. Sharp was born on April 8, 1920 in Hoboken, Georgia. She was active in Texas City Bowling Leagues. She was a room mother in all of her childrens classes. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church, Texas City and sang in the Church Choir. Her primary goal in life was to love and keep her family happy. She was a sweet, kind, strong Christian woman that was truly loved in return.
Ms. Sharp was a Valedictorian of her High School Class. After attending business school in Florida, she worked in the insurance field, at the courthouse, and for the telephone company. Later in life in Texas City, she worked for Mosely Air Conditioning, sold Avon Products, and finally, for the Galveston Sears where she retired in 1985.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bernie C. Sharp sisters, Belle, Lillie, Mary Lou and Viola brothers N.J. and Jackson and greatgranddaughter, Kelly Nicole Sharp.
Survivors include her daughter, Merle Marie Klaes and husband Richard of Zavalla, TX sons, Alfred Benson Sharp and wife, Cheryl, Richard Vernon Sharp, Sr. and wife Patty brothers, N.B. Griffis and Johnny Peliter 11 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren.
Pallbearers are her grandsons, Shawn Klaes, Alex Klaes, Rick Sharp, Jr., Tommy Sharp, Steve Sharp, Kenny Sharp, and Scott Sharp.
