Carolyn Manuel

Carolyn Josephine Manuel, 75, of Texas City, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Independence, Louisiana.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Emken Linton Funeral Home in Texas City, Texas with a visitation to start at 1:00 p.m.

Carolyn Manuel was born October 6, 1942 in Liberty, Mississippi. She and her husband Louis Manuel Jr. ran the Billups Service Station. She also worked at HEB in Texas city from April of 2002 until she retired in November 2016. Carolyn was a member of the Northside Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by husband, Louis Manuel, Jr. and daughter, Rebecca Manuel; parents, Hilda Hutson Hughes Stevens Walters and Corporal Joseph Lamon Hughes; stepfather, Jack L. Stevens and sister, Alice Jenkins

Survivors include children, Henry Reese, Louis III and Lethia Manuel, Jesse Manuel and Michelle, Katherine and Leonard Garcia, Johnny Manuel, Clayton Manuel, Deborah Fotenot, Sophia Barzare, Michael Manuel and Julie; siblings, William (Billy) Alton Stevens, Marilyn Louise Certain, Deborah and Norman Carter, Jackie Steven and Mary Ann Sheridan; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.
