Carl Dean Sullivan, Sr. was called to his heavenly home Monday, September 5, 2016.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Emken Linton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 9, 2016 at Emken Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.
Carl was born November 18, 1941 in Concord, Texas. He moved to Texas City in 1949. Carl was a Union Ironworker out of Local 135, as well as Business Manager and Texas Statewide Apprentice Coordinator for the Local. Carl was a deacon at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church where he was a member for 47 years. For 22 years Carl proudly served as District Commissioner for the City of Texas City.
Those who knew him best, knew him as a loving husband, Dad, PaPa and friend. Words cannot express how much Carl will be greatly missed by the family he cherished.
Carl is survived by his bride of 55 years Lucy Sullivan "Honey"; his two sons, Dean Sullivan and wife Juli, Dodd Sullivan; two daughters, Dayna Atkins and husband Gordon, Denise Ball and husband Matt; Grandchildren, Tara and Taylor Sullivan, Breann Atkins, Riley and Raegan Ball; sister, Margie Goff; brother-in-law, Johnny LeBeouf and wife Polly, as well as numerous nephews and nieces and a host of friends
He is preceded in death by his father, John Sullivan and mother, Susie Sullivan; brothers, Clyde, George and RoyLee; sisters, Marie and Lucille, and granddaughter Brittany Michele Atkins.
Pallbearers will be Son-in-Law, Matt Ball; Nephews, David Thibodeaux, Mark Thibodeaux and Joey Thibodeaux; great nephew, John Loyde Bennett and longtime friend Leon Cogburn.
