CALVIN COWBOY JONES
Calvin Cowboy Jones, 82, of Texas City, Texas passed away Saturday, July 27, 2013 in El Campo, Texas.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at St. Michaels Episcopal Church, 1601 Lake Road, La Marque, Texas with Fr. Rick Benson officiating. Burial will follow at La Marque Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2013 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.
Cowboy was born January 5, 1931 in Iraan, Texas. He graduated from La Marque High School in 1949 He proudly served in the U.S. Army serving in Korea. He was an electrical contractor for 43 years and owner of Jones Electric Company for 25 years. He was a member of the La Marque Lions Club since 1973 and serving as Lions International District Governor as well as other official titles. He was a member of the IBEW 527, and a member of St. Michaels Episcopal Church. Cowboy was a Chairman of Fair on the Square and Bayou Fest, and Grand Marshall for the La Marque Christmas Parade in 2011. His other interests include hunting and fishing.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Houston and Ella Jones a daughter, Trudy Jones two brothers, Huey and K.R. Jones and a granddaughter Renee Allison.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Jones his sons, Calvin L. Bud Jones, Jr. and wife Dottie, and Mark Mundell and wife Kay his daughters, Jackie Allen, Debbie Vassallo and husband Charlie and Celine Barry a brother, David Jones his sister, Evia Lou Wallen and husband John nine grandchildren, eight greatgrandchildren, one greatgreatgranddaughter many nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends.
