Billie Mcaninch

Billie Bowden McAninch, 86, of Texas City, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2013 in Texas City.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Emken Linton Funeral Home in Texas City with a visitation that will precede the service from 9:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.

Billie was born on June 17, 1926 in Vashti, Texas. She graduated from Electra High School and married her husband, Harry W. McAninch on March 15, 1947.

Billie taught Sunday school class at First United Methodist Church in Texas City. She led a Girl Scout Troop of which her daughter, Deborah, was a member and for 2 years was South Texas Chairman of cookie sales for the Girl Scouts, setting new records for sales each year. Billie was a founding member and President of the Heritage Society and was twice President of the Civic Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents Sebe and Mabel Harlow Bowden.

She is survived by her husband Harry McAninch children Deborah Lyons and Harry McAninch, Jr. grandchildren Kara Ricks, Case Ricks and wife Allie, Lindsey McAninch and Leslie McAninch greatgrandchildren Declan Ricks and Nicholas Rodriquez numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
