Betty Alberta Miller-Morrison passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on October 10, 2016 in Garland Texas.

Betty was born in Picture Rock Pennsylvania on November 9, 1924 to Harry J. and Grace Ida Miller. She was the third of six children. Having been baptized early in life Betty embraced and loved the Lord with her whole heart throughout her life. Upon graduating from High School in 1942 she felt a passion to enlist in the Women's Army Corp in at Valley Forge Pennsylvania where she served her country as a surgical nurse during World War II. Betty also volunteered for service during the Korean Conflict and was transferred to Tokyo General Hospital where she also served as a surgical nurse. During her service at Valley Forge she met the love of her life Leonard L. Morrison. After being transferred to Korea, her future husband Leonard volunteered for active service duty in Korea. They were married in Tokyo Japan on September 1, 1951 in a military service.

After receiving Honorable Discharges from the Army, Leonard and Betty settled into family life in Texas City, Texas. Her ultimate accomplishment in life was providing a safe, wholesome, loving home while raising their four children. She was an accomplished seamstress often making her children's clothing and making quilts for the family. Betty was a standout basketball player in High School and an avid bowler in the Army and at Gray's Bowling Alley in Texas City. She rolled two perfect 300 games in competition. She always volunteered her time and talents at the elementary school, middle school and high school that the children attended. She made the warm up pants for the Junior High School basketball team, she made the warm up pants for the High School basketball team when the time came for that too. She made party favors and keepsakes for all the athletes at the Spring Sports Banquet at the High School.

Leonard and Betty had four children, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren, with one on the way.

Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Leonard L. Morrison Sr., her father Harry J. Miller Sr., mother Grace Ida Miller, brother Donald L. Miller, sisters Annabelle Miller, Mary Elizabeth Miller and Adele L. Louise Caum Miller,
Betty is survived by her brother Harry J. (Sonny) Miller and her four children, Leonard L. Morrison Jr., and wife Janet, Phillip K. Morrison and wife Sheri, Connie Jo Morrison - Martin, Michael D. Morrison and wife Kim. Niece Cindy Brown, Granddaughters, Jenelle Morrison-McClure, Kristin Morrison-McDonald, Mary Morrison, Denise Martin, grandsons Michael Cody Morrison, Johnathan Martin and Joshua Andrew Morrison. Great-Grandchildren Mason Lane McClure and Seth McDonald and numerous other nieces and nephews.

A family viewing will be held on Friday October 14, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Emken-Linton Funeral Home. The Funeral will be held at Emken-Linton Funeral Home on Saturday October 15, 2016 at 10:00 am.
