Benjamin Benji Earl Stanford, 24, of Dickinson, TX, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013. He was born on January 30, 1988 in Nassau Bay, TX.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Emken Linton Funeral Home in Texas City. Visitation will precede the service from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M., Sunday, March 3, 2013 also at Emken Linton Funeral Home.
Ben attended James F. Bay Elementary, Seabrook Intermediate, Santa Fe High and Clear Lake High schools. He received his GED, trained towards an electrical apprenticeship and also attended Mainland Community and San Jacinto Colleges for basic auto mechanics training.
Ben was an excellent musician, and could play songs by ear on the guitar or piano. In his younger years, he excelled at sports and school. He loved crawfish boils with the family, skateboarding, dirtbike riding, Harleys and anything to do with cars.
In better times, he would help his dad with electrical jobs, and repair all the family vehicles. He spent time helping with Habitat for Humanity and volunteering at his family church pumpkin patch.
He is survived by his father Benjamin Lee Stanford of Dickinson mother and stepfather Monica and Norman Hayes of El Lago sister Heather Hayes of El Lago grandparents Sandy and Bob Pannett of Tyler grandfather Phil Collins of League City grandmother Connie Hayes of Bandera greatgrandmothers Wilma Collins of Dickinson and Lois Hayes of Bandera Uncle Micah and Aunt Toni Stanford and cousins Ashley, Sara and Karen of Seabrook Uncle Jim and Aunt Janet Stanford and cousins Emily, Madeline and Katie of Tyler Aunt Christi Jureczki and cousins Colbi, Violetta and Jack of Nassau Bay Uncle Allen Hayes of St. Louis, Missouri and great aunts, great uncles, second cousins, friends and other relatives too numerous to count.
Benji loved animals and is also survived by his adopted cat 3B who is special to the family and will be having kittens soon, as well as the other family pets Bullet the Cat, Hersey the Chocolate Lab and Diva and EllaB, the dogs, all who loved Benji.
The family would like to thank all of their extended family, friends, neighbors and especially the team at Equusearch for their support and help through this difficult time.
