BARBARA JO BUCK DEESE

Barbara Jo Buck Deese, 75, went to be with our lord and savior on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at her home in Dickinson after a long illness. Her strong will to live, the unwavering love and constant care by her husband Richard carried her through over 12 years of illness.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2014, at EmkenLinton Funeral Home in Texas City. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 20, 2014 at the funeral home.

Barbara was born November 5, 1938 in Bertram, Texas to Carl Clayton and Leota Tabitha Buck. She was one of six children, Billie, Ronald, Carlene, Steve and Gary. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Clayton and Leota Tabitha Priest Buck and her loving daughter Shauna Kay Deese Sotak.

Barbara attended Pasadena High School. She married Richard Cullpepper Deese on June 23, 1956 and had four children. Barbaras greatest love of all was her family. She was a stay at home mom for many years, making a loving home for her family. She later attended College of the Mainland in the Criminal Justice program. She worked briefly for Galveston County Probation and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Barbara leaves behind her husband, Richard daughters, Shari Deese Winson and Michael Goforth, Sheila Deese Elliff and husband Joey son, William Billy Cullpepper Deese and wife Mary nine grandchildren and their families, Dustin Winson and wife Amanda, Haley Sotak, Sean Elliff and wife Misty, Rachel Ashwood and husband Derek, Brigitte Cambiano and husband Jeremy, Cullen Deese, Alexa Elliff, Lane Elliff, and Olivia Elliff greatgrandchildren, Amelia and Logan Winson, Tyler and Brantlee Cambiano, Luke Ashwood, and Connor Sotak and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Dustin Winson, Sean Elliff, Cullen Deese, Lane Elliff, Aaron Durrett and Colin Durrett.

Barbara was a vibrant, beautiful, determined lady. She had a loving heart for all her nieces and nephews and her brothers and sisterinlaws. She loved teasing others, laughter, cooking and family events. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
