Amparo Monroy

Amparo de Lourdes Monroy, 62, of Texas City, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021, at HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2021, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary starting at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City.

Amparo was born October 29, 1958 in El Salvador to parents Marcos Publio and Marina (Iglesias) Monroy.

She is preceded in death by her father Marcos Monroy and sister Dinora Monroy.

Survivors include her daughters, Rocio Sorto, Liliana Sorto, Helen Monroy, Yamileth Monroy,  Lilibeth Lopes Monroy; sons Jeremy Monroy and Jayden Monroy; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; mother Marina Monroy; brothers Miguel Quinonez and Javier Monroy; sisters Aracely Monroy, Graciela Martinez, and Marilyn Monroy; Ex-husband Agustin Rubio; Special Godmothers Francisca Monroy and Celina Monroy.

The family would like to say a special thank you to friends and family that have been there for them during this difficult time.

Pallbearers are Christian Ramirez, Erick Sorto, Efren Perez, Javier Monroy, Juan Aguilar, Alexis Monroy, Tony Figueroa, Brian Larios.
