Amanda Lightfoot, 48, of Texas City, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2021, surrounded by the love of her close family.
She was born on April 25, 1973, to Jose and Diane Garza in Landstuhl, Germany where her father served in the Military. In the spring of 1975, her family moved back to Texas where she resided the rest of her life.
Amanda was beautiful. You couldn't miss her long dark hair and gorgeous freckles. Her feminine personality and loud laugh are what made her shine. She was so special to all that loved her.
Spending quality time and bonding with her children Haley and Lorenzo was always something she cherished. They were her heart. She had 3 grandchildren, Cruz, Sofia, and Linkin whom she deeply adored. Being a Nana brought her joy and happiness that was unlike any other.
She was an active member of St. Mary of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. She participated with ACTS, St. Anthony's Alter Group, Woman's Prison Ministry and helped cook for the Life Teen Ministry along with volunteering at St. Vincent de Paul. She loved her church community and often attended Adoration.
Amanda is survived by her father Jose Garza Sr; her children, Haley Zaragoza and husband Blake, and Lorenzo Lightfoot; her 3 grandchildren, Cruz Rojas, Sofia Rojas and Linkin Zaragoza. As well as numerous other family members that loved her dearly.
"I knew someday that you would fly away. For loves the greatest healer to be found. So, leave me if you need to. I will still remember. Angel flying too close to the ground."
