Alice Ann Heinatz Bruce

Alice Bruce of Texas City went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 7, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 19, 1934 to John Madison and Katie Mae Crawford Heinatz. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, John Maurice Bruce, Sr. and her sister Sarah Hermes.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Bruce Sr. of Texas City, daughter, Julie Horton and her husband, Jerry of Santa Fe, TX son, Randy Brewer and his wife, Dolly of Canyon Lake, and son, Gene Allen Bruce, Jr. of Hitchcock. Also surviving are her sisters, Mary Kate Williams and her husband, Buford of Rusk, TX and Susie Hawkins of Artesia, NM her grandchildren: Jeremy and Stephanie Brewer, John and Allison Bruce, Mandy Rogers, Tara Hersey, Colton Horton, Ronda Nuce and numerous greatgrandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Alice was an avid gardener and took pride in her favorite hobby of raising Japanese Koi. She transformed her yard into a beautiful setting of ponds, waterfalls and lush tropical plants. She enjoyed working in her garden, watching the birds and caring for her fish. She will be missed by all that knew her.

Graveside service will be held at Alta Loma Cemetery Saturday, July 13 at 12:00pm.
