ALETA BENSON

Aleta Wooten Benson, 88, of Houston, Texas, a former longtime resident of Galveston County passed away Thursday, October 17, 2013 in Houston.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at EmkenLinton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock, Texas. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Benson was born September 5,1925 in Paris, Texas. She was retired from Monsanto. She was a life master contract bridge player.

Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Royal H. Benson II her parents, Joe T. Wooten and Mabel Riley Coen a stepson, Royal H. Benson, III.

Survivors include her sons, Michael Mallia Tamsyn Sprang, and Tim Maillia her daughters, Catherine A. Maillia, Beth Mallia, Gayle Grassle Craig Grassle step daughter, Lisa Johnson Gary Johnson stepdaughterinlaw, Rene Benson her brothers, J.T. Tommy Wooten Linda Wooten and Eddie Wooten Irene Wooten seven grandchildren, Scott Van Nostrand Mara Van Nostrand, Lindsay Bohne Chad Bohne, Chris Mallia Krisin Lee, Craig Mallia, Rae Grassle, Tillie Benson and Taylor Johnson numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
